Prime Time Children’s Ministries (Nursery to Fifth Grade)

Because there is no better time to discover God’s love then during the childhood years, Prime Time exists to help children grow in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Children will find a fun, nurturing and creative place to experience the truths of God’s word and explore what difference those truths can make in their lives. Our staff and volunteers are committed to making this the “prime time” of each child’s week.

A Place For Every Child

Nursery/Toddler:  Our nurseries are safe, nurturing places where little ones receive lots of individual love, prayer, and care from qualified caregivers who believe children of every age need to experience God’s love. Nursery/Toddlers classrooms are on the first floor of the main building in rooms M-100 and M-101.

Preschool:  Beginning at about 2.5 years and until they turn 4, children discover God and His world through simple stories, play, music, crafts, and lots of hands on learning activities. Kids make new friends as they are introduced to their “best friend,” Jesus. The Preschool classroom is on the first floor of the main building in room M-102.

Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten:  Children, 4 years—Up to Kindergarten, begin to tackle a bit more structured learning in a creative, fun setting designed with the unique needs of 4s & 5s in mind.  Art, puppets, drama, games, stories, and snacks all focus on God’s amazing story and the unique plan He has for us.  Children also get a taste of “community” as they begin to experience a small group they can call their own. The Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten classroom is on the first floor of the main building in room M-103.

Elementary (First through Third):  Programming for this age group includes innovative and creative teaching, “hands on” worship experiences, thought provoking discussions, dramas, games, and consistent small groups.  Children are challenged to not just “learn” about God, but to “experience” God in a community as we live life God’s way. Grades 1, 2, & 3 meet on the second floor of the main building in Room M-201.

Grades 4 & 5:  This age group is challenged to take more responsibility for their relationships with God and with each other. The hands on teaching time and round table discussion allow them to connect, grow closer to God, and to start asking and answering more critical thinking questions. Grades 4 & 5 meet on the second floor of the main building in Room M-206.

Special Events

Prime Time Children’s Ministries sponsors and/or teams with other ministries for various special events throughout the year. Check our web page often for details regarding thevents:

Arts Camp:  Our 2013 Arts Camp Dates are June 17 – June 21.  Elementary children explore the wonder of our creative God and their own God-given creativity through the Arts.  This high energy and high impact week has become for many, “The best week of the year!” The camp is open to all children entering Grades 1-6 in the fall school year.

In-Door Campout:  Children in Grades 4 & 5 have their first Oak Hills camping experience indoors; we turn the main auditorium into a campground complete with tents, trees, campfires, and more. This overnighter includes, camp games and songs, S’mores, table games, camp crafts, and always a special guest.

Father/Daughter Dance:  On January 25, 2013, enjoy an evening of dancing, crafts, delicious treats, and lasting memories for fathers (or uncles, grandpas, special friends) and daughters (aged 4 years—Grade 6). This special evening is an Oak Hills favorite and a Prime Time tradition.

Faith Foundations:  An in-depth 12 week class for Grades 4 & 5 on the Christian faith, with a challenge to personally explore, question, and claim these sacred truths as their own.
